Casa Bahati
After a long trip to visit Calabria, perhaps you can't be on the beach all day, but also visit the surrounding area. Thus the vast Sila National Park, or a number of historical sites, is worth the visit.
It can also be wonderful to do nothing and enjoy the sun on your terrace, finally read that book or play a game; in short: relax. To stay on the beach, just 5 minutes walk away, we have the attributes of snorkeling, 1 wetsuit, surfboards, umbrellas and jeu de boule for enthusiasts. For the little ones, we have beach toys. If large towels (for the beach) are desired, guests must bring them.
You can alternate the sea with other sporting activities, such as walking and/or cycling. Inland the terrain becomes a bit rough, so even a bike ride can be very pleasant. We have some bicycles, even for children.
A few steps from Casa Bahati is a riding school with horses, good and beautiful. At cooler hours, you can go out of the arena and explore the area. To visit markets, other places or cities, or the Sila National Park, see "going out, markets and advice" on this site.

Who are we and where an you find us
We are Bastiaan and Janny, Dutch, but in this south we say Bastiano and Janina. After early retirement, we decided to leave ourselves to settle in Calabria. The reason was mainly culture, lifestyle, environment, freedom and the separation of "normal stress pressure" as in Northern Europe.
As our first vacation home here is no longer convenient for a permanent residence, we decided to build something new. We have named the property "Casa Bahati" (Bahati in Swahili means "the happy one"). This is where we live in 2003.
After that, the network set up step by step. During this time, we got a quick Italian course from the construction worker and the neighbors, but also learned the most tricks (in construction). In 2006 everything was achieved and now consists of a half villa for ourselves, plus a half villa and two apartments for rent.
Finally, we are also living in the compressed, for which we are continually challenged. We will do our best to leave guests as pleasant as possible.
